Polesye – LNZ. Forecast and announcement for the match of the championship of Ukraine

On Sunday, September 22, a match of the seventh round of the Ukrainian Premier Football League will be held in Zhytomyr at the “Tsentralny” stadium, in which Zhytomyr “Polesie” and Cherkasy LNZ will play. The starting whistle of referee Dmitry Panchyshyn from Kharkiv will sound at 18:00 Kyiv time.

Polesie
The ambitious project of Zhytomyr “Polesya” continues its undefeated streak in the current season. Imad Ashur’s team lost only once, when they failed to beat Ingulets on their field in the third round (1:1), while the rest of the matches ended exclusively with victories for the “wolves”. And they are also included in a rather narrow circle of teams with the fewest number of conceded goals – three, the same number on the account of “Dynamo” and “Rukh”.

It was these two competitors of “Polesya” that played a draw with each other the day before (0:0), which is definitely good news for the Ashura team. After all, it is possible to catch up with the capital team in terms of points in the standings, but Lviv, who are already two points behind, will once again break away by all five. At the same time, “Alexandria” will again catch up and overtake due to the better goal difference.

In the near future, the “Wolves” will have a very interesting calendar with games against their “brothers in green” in the form of “Karpat” and “Vorskla”, against whom they will have to play on the road, and “Levogo Bereh”, which itself will visit Zhytomyr, but already after another international break. Let’s not once again focus on the fact that the calendar at “Polesya” could be more interesting due to participation in European Cups, since Ashur’s football players at least have to deal with this load. In the last “bloody” derby against “Veres”, Smolyakov and Chobotenko received cuts, and now the central defender, most likely, should be given a rest. “Polesya” has no other personnel problems, except for Bena Makuan, who still cannot get in shape after a serious injury. Is there a need for a legionnaire with Nazarenko in such a form (6 goals + 3 goals)?

LNZ
The next opponent of “Polesya” will be the team, after defeating it in the second half of the last season (0:1), the European Cup ambitions of “Wolves” could be under great threat. And we are still talking about that team led by Oleg Dulub, who was considered to be playing “boring” football for the result. Now the Spaniard Andres Carrasco is in charge of everything, so the expectations from the performances of the “violets” are not without anticipation every time.

But that was the case before the first international break this season, during which LNZ left with a defeat against Dynamo Kyiv (0:1), in which there seems to be nothing shameful and unexpected, but then we saw the first example of the fact that the team from Cherkasy may abandon his own principles of the game. As a result, it was a defeat in the context of one meeting, and if you look more globally, this factor had its influence on the match against “Colossus” (1:1) at the beginning of the week.

LNZ no longer looks as bright as it did, for example, in the game against “Rukh” (1:3), when it inflicted the only defeat on the opponents in the new season to date. But at the same time, the “violets” even managed to make some transfers, such as the signing of Shota Nonykashvili and Osama Halaila, and the results began to decline. Not to beat “Colossus” is a problem, but how to defeat “Polesie”, which is already higher than the same “Movement”, is already a dilemma for Carrasco. It is not possible to adapt to LNZ, but the Ashur team does not intend to give control over the game either. And everyone needs glasses.

History of meetings
The football paths of “Polesya” and “LNZ” previously crossed 4 times within the framework of the Premier League and the First League. There is an advantage in the number of victories in favor of the club from Zhytomyr – 3 successful matches, and one game ended with the victory of the club from Cherkassy. The goal difference is 6:4. LNZ’s biggest and only victory came at the last meeting in March of this year – 1:0, when Denys Oleinyk’s goal brought victory to the “violet” on the opponent’s field. “Polesie” won all three games in 2023 with the same score – 2:1.

Themis
The main arbiter of the upcoming game will be 37-year-old Dmitry Panchyshyn from Kharkiv, who has 27 matches in the “elite” division on his account. The side referees will be Taras Chopylko and Alexander Dashko, and Andrey Zaitsev will serve as the reserve referee. The match will be attended by the VAR system led by Viktor Matyash, who will be assisted by Yuriy Suryak. Panchyshyn has no experience of holding a match with the participation of “Polesya”, while he met with LNZ twice – a draw and a defeat.

Orientation compositions
“Polesye”: Volynets – Smolyakov, Matych, Vialle, Mykhailichenko – Talles Costa, Babenko, Krushinsky – Nazarenko, Luifer, Hutsuliak.
