The cessation of blocking by Polish farmers of checkpoints on the border with Ukraine is temporary – the protests may resume in December and will be much larger.
This was stated by one of the leaders of the strikers, Roman Kondrov, writes “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to pap.pl.
Agreements were reached during the negotiations, the farmers must submit their demands to the Ministry of Agriculture by Tuesday, November 26, to which Sekersky promised to prepare an answer by December 10.
“What will be decided, when and how – these requirements cannot be fulfilled at the same time, they require a series of regulatory decisions, and therefore it will be a schedule of tasks with deadlines,” the minister clarified.
For their part, the farmers expect, among other things, that the Polish government and the Sejm will speak out against the free trade agreement between the European Union and the countries of South America.
“We will suspend the protest, but we will not abandon it. And if the agreements are not fulfilled, we will return, but it will be a mass protest on the entire eastern border of Poland,” Kondrov emphasized.
Currently, the passage of all categories of vehicles in this direction is carried out as usual.
We will remind:
According to the Polish side, local farmers planned to start a strike in front of the “Medyka – Sheghini” checkpoint on November 23.
