“I met with the Ukrainian scouts who passed the Bethlehem flame to peace. The fire will also be passed on to our defenders,” Zelenskyi said on Facebook.
The president thanked the scouting organizations for “helping and caring for Ukraine.”
According to the president’s website, among those present at the meeting were members of the youth organization “Plast – National Scout Organization of Ukraine”, the all-Ukrainian youth public organization “National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine” and the public organization “Association of Guides of Ukraine”.
“The children said that they help young people in the frontline regions and keep in touch with young Ukrainians abroad. Scout organizations also support wounded soldiers. More than half a thousand members of the organization joined the Defense Forces,” the message reads.
