According to the investigation, two residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea, who moved there after 2014, recruited an Equator who was previously convicted of human trafficking and was on probation. The suspect received a task from Russian agents to find a cache of weapons in Kharkiv, which contained RPG-7 and ammunition. He moved these objects to another place, hid them in the forest and gave the coordinates to the curators.
In September 2024, the citizen of Lviv received a new task – to carry out sabotage on the railways in the western regions of Ukraine. The places he chose included sections of the track near the defense structure “Tarakanivsky Fort”, where it was planned to install hidden video cameras to record the consequences. The criminals planned for the train to derail, which would cause the destruction of the railway infrastructure, damage to the train and the humanitarian cargo.
The suspect was detained on the eve of the sabotage, which made it impossible to implement his plans.
