The wife of a 25-year-old football player, Marianna, told how Anel saved her and their 18-month-old son Isak’s life:
“We had a near-death experience. In July, there was a fire in our house. I slept, as did our son Isak. Fortunately, Anel was awake. He smelled smoke and got us out of there before it got any worse. We lost all our things,” Expressen quoted the football player’s wife as saying.

“Seeing our son’s room in total darkness after the fire was terrifying. I think the hardest thing was losing all of our son’s things, his baby clothes and his favorite blanket. We are happy and grateful that we were able to survive this,” she added.
The family was forced to look for a new home and start from scratch: “It was definitely not the best year for us. People should know that our life is not perfect,” says Marianna Ahmedhodzic.
