European football in mourning – died Mladen Zhizhovychthe 44-year-old coach of the club “Councillors 1923”.
He fainted in the 22nd minute of the match against Mladost in the Serbian championship. Medics immediately ran up and took him to the hospital, but it was not possible to save his life.
The game was first suspended, and later finally canceled when the death of the coach was confirmed. Players and coaches of both teams were crying on the field.
Žižović, a former Bosnian national team player, took charge of Radnički 1923 less than three weeks ago. He left three children.
The Football Union of Serbia expressed its condolences, calling his death a great loss for the entire football world.
Words of support were also conveyed by Partizan and Crvena Zvezda: “Rest in peace, Mladen.”
