Elina published a joint photo with Gael on her Instagram – the Ukrainian and the French trained together on the New Zealand courts.
Next week (January 5) Elina and Gael will compete in Oakland (WTA 250 and ATP 250, respectively). The Ukrainian will lead the seeding in the women’s grid.
Monfils won the trophy in Auckland last year. In 2024, Svitolina played in the final on these courts, where she lost to Coco Goff.
