Petro SHOTURMA: “I didn’t think about ending my career after the injury”

The other day, the 32-year-old futsal player underwent a second operation on his injured knee in a clinic near Munich. The player of the national team of Ukraine, Petro Shoturma, in an interview with Sport.ua, whether he thought about ending his career.

– Did you have thoughts that this could be the end of your career?

– No, there were no such thoughts. If it was 20 years ago, maybe I would have thought about it. But with modern medicine and the latest rehabilitation, all injuries are curable. I remember how I was told before the game for the third place that I needed to fly to Germany in order to have an operation sooner.

He refused, because he had been going to this match his whole career. Although I was sitting in the stands, my heart was on the field with the boys. He went to the awards ceremony after the victory over the French, having received three anesthetic injections.

But I don’t regret anything. The bronze medal at the World Championships gave me motivation to get back on the court as soon as possible.
