Artem Dmytruk, the fugitive People’s Deputy declared wanted, said that Ukraine apparently demands his urgent extradition and that he was detained by law enforcement officers on Tuesday.

Details: In an interview with the British publication The Independent, Dmytruk reported that he had to appear before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court to contest the extradition request from the Ukrainian government. He also complained about “political oppression by the government of Ukraine because of its support for the church.”

Dmytruk also said that the British government provided him with security after he arrived in the country.
