This year, applicants for this distinction are more than last year – and this is now all that is known about Mirny Nobel. And what do bookmakers say? Bookmakers and websites of predictions (such as Fanduel, ODDSPEDIA and KALSHI) are actively taking rates on the distinction. The coefficients indicate how much bookmakers believe in the candidate: the lower the number, the higher the chance (for example, 1 of 3 means 33% probability).
The list of chief candidates of bookmakers for a new distinction of peace includes:
- Alexei Navalny’s widow (chances of 20-34%);
- Sudan’s Emergency Respense Rooms volunteers (chances of 25-29%);
- US President Donald Trump (chances range from 4% to 33% for political reasons);
- President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy (chances of 6% to 18%),
- Greta Tunberg eco -activist (chances of 4-7%).
The miserable chances (but with a big payment in the event of victory) have Ilon Musk (3%) for the program “World through Technology” and Julian Assange (3%) for their expositions. But all this is uncertain, and the Nobel Committee ignores surveys and ponds – past twists often shocked bookmakers.
Trump’s chances of distinction Trump is one of the most discussed candidates for peace in 2025, but experts evaluate his chances as the smallest. Norwegian analysts, including Hilde Restad from Oslo University, are called Trump’s “antithesis” of distinction, since he makes “everything opposite to the values and the spirit of Nobel’s distinction of peace.” Trump has aggressive rhetoric (such as migrants or trade wars), he “supports militarization” (this is about supplying weapons to Ukraine, which goes against Nobel’s principle of “reduction of armies”), too advertises himself, openly declaring himself as the most important candidate. It is necessary to be more modest, Mr. President – Nobel Committee prefers to award long -term efforts for peace, not short -term diplomatic outbreaks.
Nevertheless, Trump has received some public promotion from world leaders for participating in conflict de -escalation.
In March, US Congressman Darrell Issa put forward Trump for peace for his “historical role in the cessation of wars.” This is an official statement on the White House website.
In June, Pakistan’s government, represented by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, announced the nomination of Trump for the de -escalation of the India – Pakistan crisis in May and the “prevention of a nuclear war”. This was discussed at a press conference in London on September 29.
In July, Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Manteth put forward Trump through the termination of border conflict with Thailand. The official statement was spread by Cambodia media.
