During the Christmas and New Year holidays, an increase in passenger traffic through checkpoints in Lviv and Volyn regions is recorded.

This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.

An increase in traffic is observed both for departure from Ukraine and for entry. In this regard, all checkpoints work with increased load.

To reduce queues and speed up border crossing, border guards have increased shifts, opened additional automated workplaces and are constantly coordinating actions with the Polish side.

After a short-term decline in traffic immediately after Christmas, the situation has picked up again – the number of cars and passengers at the border is increasing.

The largest queues for departure from Ukraine are currently recorded at the checkpoints “Sheghini”, “Krakivets”, “Rava-Ruska”, “Ustylug” and “Ugryniv”.

The least load is observed at the checkpoints “Grushiv”, “Nyzhankovichi” and “Smilnytsia”.

At the international checkpoint “Ustylug – Zosyn” buses and cars stand for 20 hours. The situation became complicated due to the festive flow of people going to Poland for vacation or to visit relatives.

A record daily passenger flow was recorded at checkpoints in the Lviv region — more than 75,000 citizens crossed the state border.
