The relevant initiative was supported by 57% of surveyed Kyivans, which allows the city authorities to start the procedure of preparing the final decision. We are talking about the passage between Mariinsky Park and house No. 9 on Mykhailo Hrushevsky Street, where Parubiy worked, a place that is directly connected with the events of the Revolution of Dignity and Ukrainian parliamentarism.
The leader of the “European Solidarity” faction in the Kyiv City Council, Maryna Poroshenko, emphasized that the figure of Andriy Parubiy is of exceptional importance for the modern history of Ukraine, as he was a key figure during the fateful protests on the Maidan and made a fundamental contribution to the development of state institutions. His activity as the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and in the ranks of the “European Solidarity” team is considered a model of devotion to national interests and the strengthening of Ukrainian identity. Honoring his memory through the name of a street in the center of Kyiv will be an expression of gratitude for many years of service to the state and protection of freedom.
Andriy Parubiy died tragically on August 30, 2025 in Lviv, where he was killed in the middle of the street, which became a shock for the entire country and the international community. The investigation examines several versions of the crime, including those related to his political activities and active position in resisting aggression from the Russian Federation. The appearance of a street named after him in Kyiv aims to engrave the memory of the leader who devoted his life to the struggle for independence, and to inspire future generations of Ukrainians to defend their statehood.
