It is assumed that the allied countries will help in co-financing the troops, which will ensure proper conditions of service and modern contracts for those servicemen who show a desire to remain in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
The head of state emphasized that many Ukrainians, who changed civilian professions for the sake of protecting the country from Russian aggression, have every right to return to peaceful life after the end of hostilities. At the same time, the state is interested in the professionalization of the army, where the foundation will be military personnel with real combat experience. Zelenskyi emphasized that Ukrainian society and defense forces have already proven their effectiveness in opposing the Russian Federation, but after the war, the army’s operating conditions must change from extraordinary to stably professional.
The system of security guarantees, according to the president, will be based on the financial support of partners in various formats, which will make it possible to maintain the high combat capability of units without excessive burden on the economy. This approach should record Ukraine’s gains in the fight against Russia and create a reliable shield against any future threats. Maintaining technological advantage and developing defense capabilities are identified as strategic priorities for ensuring lasting peace.
It will be recalled that the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke about the ready plans for the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine.
The United States offers Ukraine legally binding security guarantees similar to Article 5 of NATO, without the need for formal entry into the Alliance.
