OVA: in Odesa, residents of buildings without electricity blocked the roads. The authorities urged to “maintain patience”

In Odesa, on December 18, there were recorded cases of roads being blocked by residents of buildings that have been without electricity for a long time, Oleg Kiper, the head of the regional military administration, said and called on Odesa residents to “keep patience.”

“I understand people’s emotions. When there is no light for several days in a row, it is difficult and tiring. As a result of enemy attacks, Odesa’s energy industry suffered large-scale damage. Restoration work is complicated by repeated shelling and constant air raids. But energy workers work around the clock and do everything possible to return the light to every home as soon as possible. All problematic addresses are working, recovery is ongoing,” he emphasized.

The head of OVA reminded that there are indomitable points in the city, where you can warm up, recharge your gadgets and get basic help.

On December 17, a state emergency was declared in Odesa due to the state of the energy infrastructure after massive Russian strikes.

The largest Russian combined mass air attack on Odesa and the region took place in several waves. The most powerful blow fell on the night of December 13. According to the Southern Defense Forces and the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian army then used up to half a thousand Shaheds and 30 missiles of various types. The main strike was directed to the south, and Odessa was the first city to be attacked with Dagger missiles. According to Oleg Kiper, the head of Odesa OVA, and Ukrenergo NEC, the Russian invaders targeted critical and port infrastructure.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
