On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, hourly electricity blackout schedules for both domestic and industrial consumers will continue to apply in most regions of Ukraine.
“Ukrenergo” officially confirmed that the restrictions were caused by the consequences of a massive missile and drone attack by the Russian Federation on December 27, which damaged key generation facilities and energy transmission networks. Although the exact number of queues on a national scale is not indicated, in Kyiv and the region, one queue of outages is forecast for this day from 08:00 to 17:00, which means the absence of light for about 4 hours for each group.
Despite the completion of emergency shutdowns on the right bank of Kyiv, the situation on the left bank of the capital and in part of the Kyiv region remains tense: there, intensive restoration work continues at the substations that suffered direct hits. The most difficult situation was recorded in the Vyshgorod and Obukhiv districts, where energy companies have to use complex schemes for reconnection of consumers. The government also instructed the Ministry of Energy to develop a mechanism that would prevent residents from automatically falling into the scheduled schedules immediately after lengthy emergency repairs.
A queue is a group of consumers consuming a certain amount of megawatts; in total, there are 6 such queues in the energy system of Ukraine. The conditional duration of restrictions depends on their number: one queue means up to 4 hours without light per day, two – up to 8 hours, and three – up to 12 hours. In case of introduction of 5 or 6 queues at the same time, schedules cease to operate and emergency shutdowns begin. Since the situation can change dynamically depending on the success of repairs or new threats, it is recommended to check the current schedules for specific addresses on the websites of local regional energy companies or in the DTEK and Yasno chatbots.
During the press conference on the results of 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister for the restoration of Ukraine, Oleksiy Kuleba, announced the development of a mechanism that will avoid the imposition of planned outages on emergency ones.
In Kyiv, after the latest attacks on the energy infrastructure, the situation remains difficult. On the left bank of the city, emergency power outages continue to operate, despite two attempts to bring the district to the schedules.
A large-scale missile and drone attack by the Russian Federation on the energy infrastructure of the capital, which took place on December 27, led to a critical shortage of power in the networks of the left bank. Due to overloading of damaged power transmission lines, the DTEK company introduced emergency shutdowns, which as of the morning of December 28, 2025, paralyzed the operation of the usual electric transport schemes.
Another massive Russian strike took place in Kyiv on December 27. Since the night, the enemy has used almost 500 drones, a significant number of Shaheds, as well as 40 missiles, including Daggers. The main target is the energy and civil infrastructure of the capital.
