Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok advanced to the semi-finals of the doubles hard tournament without a fight WTA 500 in AdelaideAustralia.

In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian and her partner Desiree Kravchyk from the USA were to play against the first seeds Alyona Ostapenko (Latvia) and Xie Shuwei (Chinese Taipei).

However, the meeting will not take place due to Ostapenko’s withdrawal. On January 13, Alyona did not manage to finish the meeting of the round of 16 of the Adelaide singles against Tereza Valentova due to neck / shoulder problems.

Ostapenko refused to continue the match with the Czech by the score of 5:7, 2:3, and in the first game she lost the advantage with 5:0.

Kichenok and Kravchik will fight either Aija Muhammad and Erin Rutliff or Ellen Perez and Demi Schurs in the semi-finals of the 500 in Adelaide. At the start of the competition, Lyudmila and Desire defeated the duet of Iryna Khromacheva / Aleksandra Panova.
