Orban: Ukraine should not be accepted in the EU even if Brussels becomes upside down

Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban Once again opposed Ukraine’s accession to the EU, saying that it would bring war to the European Union.

He said that the beginning of the previous World War was preceded by signs such as increased rivalry between great powers, increasing the number of armed conflicts or increasing the arms race. Hungary needs silence, peace and strategic peace, the Prime Minister emphasized.

“Ukraine should not be admitted to the European Union – which will also bring war – even if all Brussels turns upside down,” the Hungarian government’s Orbano site quotes.

“The boundaries of the diplomatic and forceful influence of Hungary are obvious. Therefore, we must focus primarily on regional peace. We must create peaceful alliances with everyone with whom we can,” Orban emphasized.

He noted that in order to stay out of war, Hungary must develop good relations with all world centers of power.

“It is necessary for all major powers to be economically and financially interested in the success of Hungary, that is, no one should be interested in the destruction and weakening of Hungary. The condition for avoiding war is that we have strength to protect ourselves. There is still something to work on, although the cost of defense is already 1 750 billion.”

The Prime Minister stressed that a complete national consensus is required that Hungary cannot be locked in any block. “We are part of the Western Alliance system, but we must also be present in the Eastern economy,” he added.

Earlier, Viktor Orban stated that his country was offering “strategic cooperation” to Ukrainians, not the final integration into the European Union because of fear of being involved in the war.
