IBF world champion in the weight category up to 90.7 kg Jay Opetaya (28–0, 22 KOs) entered the ring against a 40-year-old undefeated opponent from Turkey – Huseyn Jinkara (23–0, 19 KOs).
The Australian took control in the center of the ring from the first seconds, moved perfectly on his feet, throwing a lot of punches. Opetaya did not focus on the opponent’s head, often disturbed the contender with unpleasant attacks on the body.
Jinkara tried to break the course of the fight, used clinches, but due to the huge difference in speed, he could not keep up with the champion. In one of the episodes, the Turkish boxer successfully threw several side kicks, Jay had to clinch so as not to end up on the canvas.
The contender quickly got tired and already in the third round began to breathe hard. Missed a lot of unnecessary shots, tried to defend and made the favorite miss often. The Australian tried to press the opponent, but several dangerous jabs came in response.
Jinkara looked good in some episodes, but it wasn’t enough to force a competitive fight. In the eighth round, Jay caught the opponent with a left hook and sent him to a heavy knockout.
