As stated in the message on the SBU website, the relevant decree was signed by the President of Ukraine. The service also found that Onufri voluntarily received Russian citizenship in 2002. He did not inform the authorized authorities of Ukraine. At the same time, Berezovsky continued to continue to use the status of a citizen of our country.
“According to the information available in the Security Service of Ukraine, Berezovsky (Onufri) supports communication with the Moscow Patriarchate and deliberately opposed the receipt of canonical independence of the Ukrainian Church from the Moscow Patriarchate, whose representatives openly support Russian aggression against Ukraine,” the statement said.
In addition, despite the full -scale invasion, Onufri “actually continues to support the policy of the ROC and its leadership, including Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev).”
The SBU reminded that it was Gundyaev who “blessed the armed aggression of the Russian troops and pursued a propaganda policy of justification and inciting to the genocide of the Ukrainian people.”
“At the same time, supporting the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation contributes to the criminal activity of the political top of the aggressor country,” the department added.
