Ukrainians believe that corruption in Ukraine has increased significantly. Thus, if in 2023 it was considered a very common 43% of citizens, then 60% of Ukrainians consider the results of 2024.

About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the results of the national survey KIIS.

At the same time, only a tenth of citizens who have encountered complaints against law enforcement agencies. For the most part, because they do not believe that it will have a result.

The purpose of the study was to follow changes in the attitude of the population to the problems of corruption, in the experience of clashes of the population with corruption, in assessing the effectiveness of anti -corruption measures taken by the authorities and other “players”, as well as in the desire of the public to join anti -corruption activities. And as the results showed, the situation in 2024 has deteriorated in comparison with 2023. Thus, if in 2023 43% of respondents were considered very common corruption, then in 2024-60% of respondents.

“An even more disturbing and other indicator is the direct experience of Ukrainians who were forced to face corruption. Thus, 80% of citizens surveyed reported that in 2024 they faced them by public authorities. The vast majority of cases concerned the educational and medical spheres. In addition, Ukrainians also consider a very common corruption in the field of privatization, ownership and use of land, as well as in the National Police, including patrol. He considers at least 25% of those surveyed, ”said Elena Shuliak, head of the People’s Servant of the People.

At the same time, she emphasized, Ukrainians are not very optimistic about the actions of the authorities to bring to justice persons who require bribes. Including this, only 10% of the surveyed Ukrainians who had corruption experiences complained about it to the authorities or law enforcement agencies. When asked why so, 63% of respondents answered that it would probably not produce results.

We will remind, another survey showed that during the war confidence in law enforcement agencies in Ukraine increased significantly. Already high trust in the Armed Forces has doubled.

The new figures of sociological surveys that demonstrate the fall in trust in President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky are quite relevant and relatively conservative. However, they still need to be dealt with, said the political scientist, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Ruslan Bortnik.
