The department says: they are working to ensure that all categories of educators receive the allowance.
Not all Ukrainian teachers will receive an additional payment of one thousand hryvnias / Collage UNIAN, photo UNIANNot all Ukrainian teachers will be able to receive the monthly wage supplement promised by the Cabinet of Ministers. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi on the air of the telethon.According to him, the supplement will be established from January 1, 2025 for all teachers of general secondary education – regardless of seniority and place of work. At the same time, the government’s decision will not apply to teachers of preschool and extracurricular education, as well as teachers of vocational education institutions and colleges.
At the same time, as Lisovyi said, the department is already working to ensure that all categories of educators receive the allowance.
“Salaries for the categories: preschool education teachers, after-school education teachers, vocational and technical education institutions and colleges are mostly paid by local self-government bodies. We just need to develop certain mechanisms that will allow those communities that have the opportunity to pay more, to really pay more.” – explained the minister.
Monthly supplement to teachersAs UNIAN reported, last week the Cabinet of Ministers introduced a monthly “teacher supplement” in the amount of 1,000 hryvnias starting in January. According to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, this decision is part of the government’s support for teachers.
In addition, he informed that from September 1, 2025, this payment will be increased to 2 thousand hryvnias.
