Trial “B” of the WBO and IBF middleweight world champion Zhanibek Alimkhanula confirmed the presence of prohibited substances. This was announced by the president of the Kazakhstan Professional Boxing Federation Rahimzhan Yerdenbekov, referring to the final report of VADA from the USA.
“Recently, the final examination on 34 sheets arrived, and sample “B” confirmed the presence of doping. Currently, our federation has taken jurisdiction over Zhanibek,” the official said.
According to him, the investigation into the circumstances of meldonium entering the boxer’s body is ongoing. The hearing in the case will be continued on January 23. The doping was discovered on the eve of Alimkhanula’s potential fight against Erislandi Lara for three championship belts.
