Olga Pryadko, a Ukrainian journalist from Kremenchuk, died while in Kosovo, Radio Liberty’s Kosovo service reported on January 22.

It is noted that the journalist died at the age of 51 in the apartment in Pristina where she lived with her son. The cause of her death is still unknown.

Pryadko was in Kosovo under the “Journalists in Residence” program, thanks to which journalists from Ukraine can live and work in Kosovo after the full-scale Russian invasion.

Kosovo President Vyosa Osmani expressed her condolences over the Ukrainian woman’s death and said she was “a brave voice of journalism and a testimony of strength and endurance in difficult circumstances.”

Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti noted that she found refuge in Kosovo to “avoid the tragedy of the war in her country.”

The European Union office in Kosovo also expressed deep regret over Pryadko’s death, Radio Liberty’s Balkan service notes.

Oleg Bulashev, the editor of Kremenchutska Gazeta, noted in his telegram that in the city of Pryadko, it was known as editor of the news department of the first FM-radio in the city, “Visma Radio”, and later of other radio stations in Kremenchuk.
