On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, First Lady Olena Zelenska took part in the “Moments of resilience every day” event, which took place at Boryspil airport.

Among those present were representatives from all regions of Ukraine: psychologists from sustainability centers, youth centers, school psychologists, medical workers.

“All of you present in this hall are agents of mental health, that is, agents of resilience. Everyone in their own region, city, village. At least I really want you to feel this way about your mission,” the President’s wife said during her speech.

Almost every third Ukrainian feels an increased level of stress, 11% have a high level of stress, 40% – moderate, 13% – low. These are the results research presented at the event.

At the same time, it showed that 73% of Ukrainians have a considerable resource of resilience: 35% are resilient, another 38% are mostly resilient.

The study proved a direct connection between the level of resilience and stress. 46% of respondents are adapted to stress – these are those who have high resilience and, accordingly, a low level of stress. 35% are partially adapted – with moderate levels of resilience and stress.

“So now the formula of Ukrainian sustainability consists of professional support as close as possible to the person – support that does not have to travel, which comes in the form of a local doctor or social worker. And also from each person’s own awareness, from self-help skills promoted, in particular, by the “How are you?” communication program, the first lady emphasized.

An innovative product – Momental was also presented during the event. It offers 365 ideas for daily support of the mental health of Ukrainians. This is a joint development of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), family and child psychologist Svitlana Roiz, and the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How are you?”.

“Every child, in general, every person in Ukraine needs access to the right tools, services and information to support their mental well-being, especially now, when stress is excessive,” said the head of the UNICEF Office in Ukraine, Munir Mamedzadeh.

Also within the campaign “How are you?” presented a video-manifesto with the participation of the first lady Olena Zelenska, servicemen and veterans Oleksandr Teren, Vitaly Lytvyn, Denys Kryvenko, Vladyslav Yeschenko and his wife, Zakhar Biryukov and his family, Khrystyna “Kudryavaya”, songwriters, performers Roksolana Syrota (ROXOLANA), Vyacheslav Drofa (OTOY), Yana Shemayeva (Jerry Heil), TV presenter Kateryna Osadchaya. The manifesto was created in partnership with an artist, volunteer and ambassador of the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How are you?” Dmytro Monatik (Monatik).

In addition, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Days of joint action organized by regional teams implementing the All-Ukrainian mental health program were held in various regions. They summed up the interim results of the implementation of the program “How are you?” and presented regional action plans for 2024–2026 regarding the implementation of the Concept of Mental Health Care Development in Ukraine.
