According to Usyk, the legendary American did not start out as a superstar at all. In his first competition, the young Holyfield lost and, returning home, declared: “This is a bad idea, I will not go to training again.” But Mom insisted: “No, Evander, try again.”
“He returned to the gym, but the second start also ended in defeat. And again I heard the same phrase from my mother – “try again.”
The third attempt is another failure. “I’m not going anymore,” said Holyfield. “Try again,” my mother replied.
