Today, September 19, the Kyiv City Council decided to confer the title of “Honorary Citizen of the City of Kyiv” on 15 prominent Kyivans. Among them are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi and the writer Oksana Zabuzhko. This is stated on the website of the Kyiv City Council, reports UNN.

“The Deputies Corps of the Kyiv City Council awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of the City of Kyiv” to 15 outstanding Kyivans. The outstanding Kyivans received awards today, September 19, at the plenary session of the III session of the Kyiv City Council of the IX convocation. The awarding ceremony was conducted by Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klychko”, – the message says.

Viktor Malakhov (posthumously) – theater director, founder and director of “Kyiv Academic Drama Theater on Podil”;

Alli Gordienko – organizer of library affairs, general director of the National Children’s Library of Ukraine, president of the National Section of the International Council on Children’s and Young People’s Books;

Herman Makarenko – director of LLC “Kyiv-Klasik”, artistic director – chief conductor of the symphony orchestra “Kyiv-Klasik”, conductor of the State Enterprise “T.G. Shevchenko National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet of Ukraine”;

Evgeny Savchuk – Hero of Ukraine, Ukrainian conductor, general director of the National Honored Academic Chapel of Ukraine “DUMKA”;

Yevgeny Stankovich – Hero of Ukraine, composer;

Maxim Tymoshenko – ambassador of Peace, rector of the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P. I. Tchaikovsky;

Oleksandr Usenko – scientist, surgeon, director of the State Institution “National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology named after O. O. Shalimov” of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine;

Denis Antipov (posthumously) – teacher of the Department of Languages ​​and Literatures of the Far East and Southeast Asia of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, commanding officer of the 1st Airborne Assault Battalion of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

Orest Vaskula (posthumously) – head of the public organization “Kyiv regional brotherhood of veterans of the OUN and UPA and other national liberation formations”;

Viktor Vergunov – scientist in the field of agricultural reclamation and history of natural science, director of the National Agricultural Library of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, academician of the National Academy of Sciences;

Mykola Levtik – director of the Natural Science Lyceum No. 145 of Pechersk district of Kyiv;

Anatoly Solovyanenko – artistic director of the opera of the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet of Ukraine named after T. G. Shevchenko;

Oleksandr Syrskyi – Hero of Ukraine, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces;

Oksani Zabuzhko – writer;

Oleksandr Zlotnyk – rector of the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music named after R. M. Gliera.
