On the night of February 2 in Las Vegas, a rating fight in light heavyweight took place, where the former world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk met with Serb Radivoje Kalajdzic.

Gvozdyk confidently started the match by knocking his opponent down, but already in the seventh round Kalajdzic sent the Ukrainian to the canvas twice. After the second knockdown, the fight had to be stopped – Gvozdyk was defeated, despite the status of the favorite. This is the second failure of the ex-champion in the last three fights.

After the fight, the Ukrainian athlete was suspended from boxing by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. The Ukrainian was banned from returning to the ring to prevent possible risks to his health after the heavy knockout until April 3, 2026.
