According to the newspaper, Trump spoke about his plans during a telephone conversation with European leaders and Zelensky on Wednesday. European leaders will not be present at these meetings.
The New York Times is unknown whether Putin and Zelensky agreed with Trump’s plan, but Zelensky participated in the telephone conversation.
The telephone conversation was also attended by the United Kingdom Prime Minister Kir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, as well as Vice president Jay Dia Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Representative Trump Vitcoff.
