“If I could work with Sergen Yalchyn when he was young, no one would be talking about Zinedine Zidane now. Sergen was the most talented player I have ever seen. He was incredible. But he got distracted. During the break [между игрой в футбол] he made bets on horse races. But he was an amazing player, an outstanding talent,” journalist Emanuel Roche quotes Lucescu.
Sergen Yalchyn was Lucescu’s protege in two Turkish teams – Galatasaray and Besiktas. Under the leadership of the Romanian coach, this midfielder played 98 official matches, in which he scored 31 goals and 29 assists. At the time of starting work with Mircea Yalchyn, he was already 29 years old.
Sergen Yalchyn is currently unemployed. In the summer of this year, he left the post of head coach of Antalyaspor.
