Dear Ukrainians, Ukrainian women!
A rescue operation is currently underway in Zaporizhzhia. There was an impact of Russian bombs on the city, just on civilians. Unfortunately, 13 people were killed. My condolences to family and friends. 32 people were injured, everyone is being helped. It was just a blow to the city, to ordinary people. An absolutely deliberate attack by the Russian army. This again demonstrates what Russia really needs. They want only war and only victims. That is why not a single day can be lost – we must put pressure on Moscow, we must force Russia to make peace, we must continue to do everything necessary to protect life and stop deaths. And it is critical to preserve the unity of all our partners: America and Europe, all partners in the world who help. Tomorrow I will be at a meeting in the Rammstein format, talks with partners at the level of defense ministers and military commanders are also planned. Defense Minister of Ukraine Umyerov is already in Germany and has started the first meetings. The key for Ukraine is to continue to strengthen our air defense, to enable Ukraine to at least drive Russian military aircraft away from our cities and our borders. This is real, if the partners are still implementing the agreements that we have been talking about with them for a long time. I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine. Of course, we will also discuss with our partners how our defense coalitions will continue to work in the 25th year. Europe has only one choice – and it is a historical choice – to become stronger, to become more independent, to rely more on itself. We must be adults in this world and be ready to make our European contribution to global security. It will be right for everyone in Europe.
Chief of Staff Syrsky reported today about our long-range strikes, about the work of our army against Russian military logistics, their military facilities. I am grateful to each of our soldiers for their accuracy.
I had several international calls today. Moldova – Maya Sandu. Of course, the most important thing is to help Moldova go through a difficult period of energy challenges, to prevent Moscow from igniting social tension. The entire current energy situation in Moldova, and in particular on the left bank of the Dniester, is Russia’s attempt to manipulate energy resources against the authorities in Moldova. We are ready to help Moldova, in particular, with coal. It is very important to maintain stability and give all people in Moldova the conditions to live peacefully and work for their country, to overcome poverty and for our joint movement into the European Union.
I spoke today with the Emir of Qatar. He thanked for supporting our humanitarian efforts, for participating in the implementation of the points of the Peace Formula – in particular, it concerns the return of Ukrainian children stolen by Russia – and the exchange of prisoners. We have to free all our people. Of course, they also talked about the current global situation – they exchanged views on possible changes. And I just spoke with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. He thanked for the support of our state, for our cooperation. We work at all levels to provide Ukraine with as many opportunities as possible. These are opportunities not only for us, but for everyone who values peace and human life.
