Defense Minister Rustem Umyerov met with representatives of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Norway, discussing security issues and further support for Ukraine. He wrote about this on his Facebook page.
During the meeting, Rustem Umyerov thanked the government and people of Norway for the comprehensive support that the country provides to Ukraine, in particular for the support of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s Victory Plan, which has the full support of all Scandinavian countries.
The minister paid special attention to the security aspects of this plan and discussed steps to bring Ukraine closer to NATO.
Separately, the issue of further support for the defense industry of Ukraine was discussed, in particular through cooperation within the framework of the “Danish model” of financing purchases of Ukrainian defense products.
“This format of cooperation has already proven its effectiveness, and we must jointly strengthen it,” Rustem Umyerov emphasized, noting the importance of further support from Norway in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
As ArmiyaInform reported, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov met in Oslo with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Espen Bart Eide to discuss current security issues and further international support for Ukraine.
We will remind, on November 14, Rustem Umyerov arrived on a working visit to the Kingdom of Norway, where he met with the Minister of Defense of Norway, Bjorn Arild Gram. The delegations discussed important issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular ways to develop and strengthen the Ukrainian air defense system.
On November 15, Rustem Umyerov met with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Har Støre and discussed with him the situation at the front and the key needs of Ukraine, in particular strengthening our air defense ahead of winter.
