Mom’s NGOs are called on President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to help them return Ukrainian children from abroad.
This was stated during a press conference in UNIAN Victoria Shchelko, a representative of Mom NGO, an official volunteer.
Shchlko noted that the NGO “Mom” is now known about 2 thousand 568 Ukrainian mothers, who, escaping from the war, left abroad with their children, but they had children with children there for various reasons. Both mothers and children are citizens of Ukraine, she added.
“Ukrainian children who have been seized from their mothers have no right to communicate with them, have no right to see them. Sometimes they have no right to speak Ukrainian,” Victoria Shchlko said, adding that mothers were asked to return their children home.
According to her, some of these mothers were seized several children. The situation with the removal of children has occurred in different countries of Europe and the world. In particular, it is Israel, Germany, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria and the United Kingdom. Most of these are in Scandinavia and Germany. And it is difficult to pick up children from the UK, Scandinavia and some United States of America. Shchlko cited an example that in the UK last year this situation touched 65 mothers.
In general, some mothers are in hospitals or in prison. Among the reasons for other cases, according to Shchlko, were, in particular, the skills of the school due to illness of the child and the pass of a visit to the dentist.
Victoria Shchelko also told her story. Her daughter in the UK was removed from her in 2023 and the child will not be able to come to Ukraine under 18 years. The reason for the removal of the child she was later informed is that she seems to be “homeless in the UK.”
Now she can communicate with his child twice a month for 30 minutes on a video: only in English and in the presence of other people near the child, and not all topics.
“I managed to save 58 children during this time (all from Poland and Germany – UNIAN). But only two methods. The first method is a state representative in the first 48 hours that it is a Ukrainian child and take it home. And the second method is when the Consulate and Embassy writes a letter, if, for example. Mom added that “many children can lose their passports, their Ukrainian identity.”
According to Victoria Shchelko, she and all other mothers “passed all stages, absolutely all the steps of the authorities.”
“I want to contact Mr. President: please return our children home. If even something is said to have something abroad, these are Ukrainian children.
