He has already lost the title of the world’s largest iceberg.

Iceberg A-23A has long been considered the largest on Earth. A few years ago, he began his journey by the ocean, moving away from the Antarctica ice array. As of January, it had an area of 3643 square kilometers. But since September, he began to break quickly into smaller icebergs. In particular, the last two fragments that have been broken from it have an area of 324 and 344 square kilometers.
And Iceberg A-23A now has an area of about 1700 square kilometers. And now he has lost the title of largest on the planet. The Oceanographer of the British Antarctic Service (BAS) Andrew Meyers said in a CNN comment, this title now belongs to the Iceberg D15A, whose area is about 3000 square kilometers. He is still stationary on the Antarctic coast near the Australian Davis Base.
Glaciers’ melting is the latest newsAs UNIAN wrote, recently satellite images have clearly demonstrated the effects of climate change in Mhasia. There, in the middle of the glacier, standing for thousands of years, has already formed a lake and an island, which is gradually filled with vegetation.
