4.3 billion UAH for payment of housing certificates have already been received on the account of the Ministry of Development / Photo UNIAN, Sergey ReveraThe government has directed UAH 15 billion for compensation to internally displaced persons for damaged or destroyed as a result of armed aggression of the Russian Federation. Prime Minister Denis Shmigal has informed about it.“Thanks to this decision, more than 10,000 families will be able to get a new home. The funds will be provided under the Equation program,” he wrote in his Telegram.
According to Shmigal, the first 4.3 billion UAH for further payment of housing certificates have already been received to the Ministry of Development, which, together with the Ministry of Social Policy, created a separate funding program aimed at assistance to IDPs.
Compensation for damaged or destroyed housing in UkraineOwners of destroyed housing in temporarily occupied territories or in hostilities may apply to the International Register of Damage through “Action”. According to the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov, data from this register will be the basis for reparations that Russia has to pay.
Earlier, the chairman of the “Servant of the People” party, Elena Shuliak, stated that with the current financing of UAH 4 billion a year for full compensation for the destroyed and damaged housing will be needed in 1575. According to her, according to the World Bank, direct losses caused to Ukraine only from February 24, 2022 to December 31, 2023 amounted to $ 152 billion.
She also stated that the state could not afford to pay larger amounts for housing, which was damaged as a result of Russian aggression. Currently, the maximum amount of payments under the Equation Program is 500 thousand UAH for a damaged house and UAH 350 thousand – for the apartment.
