Negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the European Union will probably not begin until the parliamentary elections in Hungary, as Prime Minister Viktor Orban will not change his position.

This was stated by the rapporteur of the European Parliament on Ukraine, Michael Galer, in an interview with the “European Truth” publication.

Haller acknowledged that the process is effectively frozen until Brussels finds a way around the Hungarian blockade.

At the same time, he suggested that the situation may change in the spring: “In April, negotiations will open, one way or another. Either Orbán will run out, or he will get new reasons to end the blockade.”

As a reminder, the EU can increase the amount of Russian assets for Ukraine by €25 billion.

Also, at the EU summit, Mertz will support 140 billion euros in reparations to Ukraine at the expense of Russian assets.
