Negotiations with Trump’s team may take place in February – Arahamiya

“At the beginning of February, there will be “Ukrainian Week” in Washington. I think that the main processes, the main negotiations with the new Trump team will actually take place there, so we are waiting.””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

Negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the team of US President Donald Trump may take place in early February during the “Ukrainian Week” in Washington, the leader of the “Servant of the People” faction, David Arahamia, said on the air of the telethon.

“At the beginning of February, there will be “Ukrainian Week” in Washington. I think there will actually be major processes, major negotiations with the new Trump team, so we’re waiting. We will have all the necessary news in a few weeks,” Arahamia said.

Earlier today, on the air of Radio Svoboda, the head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation, People’s Deputy from “Servant of the People” Oleksandr Merezhko stated that it is extremely important that the new US President Donald Trump first meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. and not with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

He assumed that Zelensky’s telephone conversation with Trump could take place within a week, and it is unlikely that a personal meeting could be organized so quickly.

The other day, the CNN channel, citing sources, reported that Trump instructed his aides to arrange a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. According to them, the newly elected US president wants to talk to the president of the Russian Federation in the first days after the inauguration to discuss a personal meeting. It is claimed that Trump is expected to quickly start work on the settlement of Russia’s war against Ukraine.

After the inauguration, US President Donald Trump said that he could talk to Putin in the near future, but did not give specific dates.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi previously said that Trump could play a decisive role in ending the war with Russia and help stop Putin.

On January 16, Zelensky said there is a chance to end the war in 2025, as Trump can pressure Russia on this issue.

Analysts of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) proved that the Kremlin does not want to make compromises in the war against Ukraine, but wants its complete surrender.
