Details: About a few hundred citizens gathered near a checkpoint in front of the Verkhovna Rada demanding that people’s deputies – to pass a law that will return the independence of NABU and SAP.

They hold cardboard with the inscriptions: “Vote for 13533. Otherwise, the Rostov”, “Hands from NABU and the SAP”, “Vote” for adequacy “, do not repeat the shame”, “We do not have to do.”

The Ukrainians also chant: “Admit the law”, “power is the people”, “we see everything” and “shame”.

Periodically they sing the anthem of Ukraine and exclaim: “Glory to Ukraine – the heroes of glory!”.

Context: A meeting of the Verkhovna Rada will soon begin, at which MPs will consider the bill, which provides for the return of the independence of two anti -corruption institutions – NABU and SAP.

Prehistory:

• On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada approved Law No. 12414 as amended to the Criminal Procedure Code, according to which NABU and SAPs become dependent on the decisions of the Prosecutor General. In the evening of the same day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the document.
• In many cities of Ukraine, there were a few days in a row after the adoption of this legislative initiative.
• Responding to the social resistance and concern to partners, Zelensky has drawn into the Verkhovna Rada. According to him, this document will provide a “force of law enforcement system” and retain “all rules for the independence of anti -corruption institutions”.
• The National Antorburea stated that the Bill of Zelensky will restore all the powers and guarantees of independence for NABU and the SAP.
