According to the investigation, the charity campaign of the Lviv was accompanied by active information support through social networks, Telegram channels, online platform (PayPal, Buymeacoffee, etc.) and with the participation of public persons and influenzers who contributed to the spread of the gathering.
At the same time, according to the Lviv City Council, the specified treatment at the time of collection of Gusakov received free of charge.
During the investigation of criminal proceedings, evidence was obtained by the assembly of the funds of citizens and legal entities in the amount of more than UAH 1.3 million. The funds raised were not fully used for their intended purpose, but were mostly directed to personal needs, gambling, and cryptocurrency investments.
Nazarii Husakov was informed in absentia of suspicion of seizing funds by fraud under the pretext of collecting treatment assistance.
In June, Gusakov left abroad.
Investigators were questioned by more than 400 victims, installing thousands of transactions for more than UAH 100 million made by persons as “charitable” donations. The exact number of persons who listed charitable donations for the suspect has not yet been established.
The analysis is ongoing, but these are thousands of transactions. It is established that only those who transferred more than 10 thousand UAH – more than 1 200 people.
