During a meeting at the NATO summit, northern European foreign foreign ministers called for a speedy ceasefire in Ukraine as soon as possible, which will open the way to negotiations on a fair and long -term peace.

According to Finland Foreign Ministry to achieve this, two things are needed:

– continuation of Ukraine’s support – five countries in Northern Europe have already undertaken to allocate more than $ 15 billion to military support in 2025;

– Increasing pressure on the Russian military economy – a large and transatlantically coordinated package of sanctions, accompanied by tariffs for Russia.

In recent months, Washington has been seeking to end the Russian Federation against Ukraine by concluding a peace agreement. During this time there were several meetings, the latter took place in Istanbul with the participation of only Ukraine and the Russian Federation through the Turkish side.

In the course of these negotiations, agreements on the exchange of prisoners of war and bodies of the dead managed to reach. However, a long cease cessation could not be reached – Kyiv and Washington have repeatedly urged, but Moscow disagreed.

Ukraine also offered a meeting at the level of the leaders of Ukraine, the United States and Russia, but the Kremlin did not agree on this proposal.
