Details: According to Admiral Bauer’s statement, after the framework agreement was reached in Washington, some mechanisms previously coordinated by the United States came under NATO control. This concerns the Special Advisory Group on Ukraine (SACU) and the International Coordination Center (IDCC).

The admiral noted that these changes are aimed at creating permanent mechanisms of assistance to Ukraine, which will remain stable, regardless of political changes in the US or other countries.

Direct speech: “For people like General Syrsky, who is directly in charge of operations on the front, the war does not depend on what happens in the White House or elsewhere. The war will continue on Monday. That’s why continued help for him is critical.”

Details: In particular, the Chairman of the Military Committee emphasized the importance of providing Ukraine with everything necessary for the continuation of the struggle.

Direct speech: “As the Secretary General (Mark Rutte – ed.) said, we must do everything to ensure that Ukraine has the strongest possible position at the moment when the negotiations begin. Until then, our support must be as powerful as possible.”

Prehistory:

  • On January 16, 2025, a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council at the level of the Chiefs of General Staff was held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
