NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte believes that US President Donald Trump is the only one who can force Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war against Ukraine.

Source: Rutte in an interview with Bild, writes “European Truth” with reference to DW

Details: According to Rutte, Trump is “totally focused on ending this war.”

Direct speech: “He (Trump. – ed.) wants to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. He is the only one who could force Putin to sit down at the negotiating table, and the only one who can eventually force him to make peace.”

Details: At the same time, the Secretary General of NATO noted that in order to conclude peace, it is necessary to make compromises: “This always happens in peace treaties.”

However, Rutte did not specify who should make such concessions.

He does not share the fear that the US under Trump may stop supporting Ukraine, which has been defending itself against Russian armed aggression for the fourth year.

In addition, Rutte expressed confidence that under Trump, the United States will maintain its commitment to NATO, so that in the event of an attack by Russia, the Europeans will not have to face Russia alone.

What preceded: On Sunday, Trump will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at his Mar-a-Lago residence.

Before the meeting with the Ukrainian president, Trump spoke with the owner of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin.

Zelensky talked about 5 thematic blocks that he wants to discuss at the expected meeting with Trump.
