As noted in the press service, they discussed a number of global security issues facing the Alliance.
In addition, the Secretary General and his team also reportedly met with Congressman Mike Waltz and members of the President-elect’s national security team.
The day before, the newspaper WP wrote that Rutte is going to meet with Trump in the near future to discuss the strategy of negotiations regarding the settlement of the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
Rutte recently expressed confidence that the newly elected American president understands the importance of US membership in NATO.
While congratulating Trump on his election victory, Rutte said that “his (Trump. – Ed.) leadership will once again play a key role in keeping the Alliance strong.”
