Reportedly, the average payment in November increased from UAH 97 to UAH 116 per person. The number of cashback recipients increased by 800 thousand compared to the previous month and reached almost 2 million people.
“In November, the state paid 232 million hryvnias of cashback to citizens, which is almost twice as much as in October. (…) Please note that payments for December and January will be made at the end of February 2025,” said Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Economy explains the cashback payment for December and January at the end of winter by “peculiarities of the budget process.” “All accrued funds will be paid in full,” the Ministry said.
Reportedly, the total amount of cashback paid out since the start of the program (for three months) is UAH 388 million. 7.9 million citizens have joined the program, and the number of National Cashback cards is 8.6 million.
The most active participants in the program, as indicated, are Ukrainians under 45 – 60% of all users. The number of middle-aged participants is 24%, and the number of older people (60+) is 16%.
“Almost 700,000 citizens did not receive payments because they did not activate their cashback cards in the Diia app in time or accumulated less than UAH 2. Currently, the total amount of cashback they have accumulated is UAH 48 million,” the Ministry of Economy said.
How does the program work?
National cashback of 10% is awarded for purchases of Ukrainian goods from a special list in stores participating in the program.
The funds can be spent on utility, medical, education, transportation, mobile communications, insurance, etc. You can buy books and other printed materials, medicines, pharmaceuticals and medical devices made in Ukraine, which are registered in the National Cashback program and sold in participating outlets , the list is available on the website. The funds can also be spent on charity or donated to the Armed Forces through charitable foundations and volunteer organizations.
