Absolute world champion in the second lightest weight Naoya Inoue (31–0, 27 KOs) shared his own opinion about his place in world boxing. The Japanese boxer is confident that he is currently the best fighter regardless of weight category.
“Am I the best boxer regardless of weight class? I think so,” Inoue said.
At the same time, the champion admitted that he does not consider himself the greatest athlete in the history of Japan:
“Am I the greatest athlete in the history of Japan? No. This is a subjective question, and there are different opinions on this matter.”
In the updated rating of The Ring, Inoue ranks third, behind Crawford and Usyk.
