– In Ukraine, some people still argue who the team has reached the finals of the Europa League: Markevich or Ramos. Do you consider yourself relevant to the success of the Dnieper in 2015?
– Of course, four years – a long time. I think our headquarters laid the base that the team played in the Euro tournament finals. But we must recognize the merit of Markevich: he not only retained the strong qualities of the Dnieper, but also added his own, strengthened the team in some way and led it to great success. This is still a few people from Ukrainian clubs, and then such achievements have not yet been repeated.
– Did the Dnieper be surprised by Markevich – the head coach or the most fierce rival in the championship?
– On the one hand, it was then unexpected, given the rivalry of clubs. But at the same time, the Dnieper guessed with Markevich. He is an experienced qualified coach, which he proved in the coming years. Saved the backbone of the team, added his own ideas and achieved great success. Therefore, the signing of such a trainer was a reasonable solution.
