“My Kitchen Rules’ most infamous cousins Jacinta and Mel have lifted the lid on their next big TV dream after becoming two of the most talked-about contestants of the season.”, — write: www.dailymail.co.uk
Speaking to Daily Mail on SeaDeck, the self-proclaimed ‘sassy villains’ admitted they never expected to be cast as the troublemakers when they joined Channel Seven’s long-running cooking competition.
‘Absolutely not,’ Jacinta laughed when asked if they predicted the edit. ‘I thought we’d be the funny ones. We genuinely thought we were hilarious.’
Mel agreed, adding: ‘We’re sassy, sure, but we thought we’d be the jokers. Call us villains, call us whatever.’
Despite their fiery on-screen reputation, the cousins insisted they had the time of their lives and are already eyeing off their next TV adventure.
‘Yes, we’d do another reality show,’ Mel confirmed without hesitation. ‘We love it.’
‘We want to do something travel-based,’ Jacinta added. ‘Travel Guides, maybe even The Amazing Race. Something fun, chaotic and wild. We love chaos.’
The pair said their bond is stronger than ever, especially after partying their way through multiple Sydney events in recent weeks.
‘We always end up at the parties,’ Mel laughed. ‘We’ve had a lot of fun.’
The chat ended with the cheeky cousins hopping onto a boat mid-interview, shouting: ‘We might’ve lost on MKR, but now we’re on a boat, so we’re all winners!’
The sisters-in-arms have been everywhere lately, thanks in part to their glamorous new debut in FHM’s Woman of the Year issue.
The feisty duo stripped down at Sydney’s Milk Beach for a sizzling bikini shoot for the reimagined FHM edition, formerly known as the MAXIM Hot 100.
With Margot Robbie taking out the magazine’s inaugural Woman of the Year crown, Jacinta and Mel made their own mark in an exclusive sun-drenched spread wearing Ark Swimwear.
Jacinta showcased her toned physique in a teal bikini, while Mel turned heads in a chocolate string two-piece that highlighted her bronzed glow.
Inside the magazine, the pair opened up about fitness, confidence and owning their femininity.
‘Confidence is the most attractive thing that comes from looking after your body and feeling radiant,’ Jacinta told FHM.
Mel said her humour and high energy were her biggest strengths, revealing she’s drawn to men who are ‘down-to-earth, emotionally intelligent and adventurous’.
Jacinta admitted she loves ‘confidence, kindness and a man who genuinely takes care of himself’.
Reflecting on relationships, Jacinta joked: ‘Treat them mean to keep them keen. Confidence, a sense of fun and knowing your worth goes a long way.’
Since leaving MKR, Jacinta has launched her own YouTube channel, Radiance Kitchen with Jacinta, sharing recipes, wellness content and lifestyle videos, while Mel teased more projects on the horizon.
‘This shoot was such a vibe,’ Jacinta said of their FHM debut. ‘Milk Beach is one of my favourite hidden gems and the perfect spot to capture that mix of fun and freedom.’
Mel added: ‘It’s iconic for us because we love the beach. It’s where we can just be ourselves. Shooting with Jacinta made it even more fun because we bounce off each other’s energy.’
The Sydney cousins shot to fame thanks to their cheeky banter, bold personalities and no-filter honesty, though they insist viewers only saw a fraction of who they are.
‘They painted us as fiery, but we’re actually just cheeky and love to laugh,’ Mel previously told Daily Mail Australia. ‘That side didn’t get shown.’
Jacinta agreed: ‘We thought people would see more of the fun we have together, but the edit was about conflict. Watching it back was definitely surprising.’
Regardless, the cousins have quickly become fan favourites thanks to their on-screen chemistry and off-screen hustle.
With a new magazine spread, YouTube projects and a reality TV comeback on their wish list, Jacinta and Mel are proving they’re not going anywhere.
