Ms. Ambassador has discussed the importance of NABU and SAP’s independence with the Attorney General

Ms. EU Ambassador Katarina Malvanova met with Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko to discuss the need to maintain the independence of NABU and SAP anti -corruption institutions.

Details: “She had a conversation with the newly appointed Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko about the need to continue the reform of the prosecutor’s office to ensure the proper and independent functioning of NABU and the SAP,” the ambassador said. Kravchenko, recall, was appointed to this position on June 21.

Material added that maintaining the impulse of reforms is also important to ensure responsibility for the military crimes of the Russian Federation.

The day before, in communication with journalists, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy assured that he does not want to risk Ukraine’s European future and is ready to correct the situation with NABU and SAP.

• On July 23, a spokesman for the European Commission Guillaume Merieier said of Brussels’s great concern about the law passed and reported that Ursula von Der Lyen had been in contact with the President of Ukraine by the Volodymyr Zelensky, expressing his serious concern and asking Kiev for explanations. Zelensky, however, says he did not communicate with the leader of the European Commission.
• On July 24, the European Commission greeted the readiness of the Ukrainian authorities to remedy the situation with the SAP and NABU and noted that they would work closely with the Ukrainian side to make sure that its comments were duly taken into account.
