According to the study, 67% of respondents support military assistance to Ukraine, and 27% advocate for its increase.
Another 40% of respondents believe that support should remain at the current level.
At the same time, 27% of the Germans spoke for reducing the supply of weapons to Kiev.
The results of the survey showed regional differences in relation to military assistance to Ukraine. In Western Germany, support is much higher: 42% stand for maintaining assistance at the current level, another 28% for an increase, which is a total of 70% of support.
In Eastern Germany, 53% of the population support assistance: 20% are in increasing weapons supply, and 33% for maintaining the current level.
Respondents were also asked about the Bundesver’s possible involvement with other European troops in ensuring a potential ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
59% of the Germans spoke for the participation of the Bundesver in such a mission, 35% against.
At the same time, thoughts were again divided depending on the region.
In Western Germany, 61% support the possible participation of the German military in a peacekeeping mission, while in Eastern Germany this figure is much lower – 45%.
Half of Eastern Germany (50%) believes that the Bundesver should not participate in such an operation, while in Western Germany this figure is 32%.
