British Super Heavyweight Prospect Moses Itauma explained why he refused the contender fight according to the IBF version against the Cuban Frank Sanchez.
The fight was scheduled for September last year, but the boxer and his team decided not to risk positions in other rankings.
“We looked at this fight and refused, because we understood that if I participate in the IBF eliminator, I will lose my places in the WBO, WBA and WBC rankings. I hold high positions in all three organizations. Therefore, the team decided that it does not make sense to go this way, especially sacrificing the WBO rating, which I have been working with for 2.5 years,” Itauma said.
