“This is a huge amount of work… Unfortunately, they are engaged in burying our people who died. People die almost every day. Units of communal services are located and work at defensive lines and fortifications. I thank them that, on the one hand, they did not leave, and on the other hand, people are risking their lives and doing everything to preserve the city of Pokrovsk and prevent the enemy from advancing,” said the head of the Donetsk Regional Government.
He added that at the moment wages in communal enterprises, as well as employees of the local TV channel “Orbita” (the housing and communal services department of the Pokrovsk City Council is on the list of founders) – from 27 to 35 thousand. UAH
“According to the legislation, the heads of local military administrations do not coordinate their budgets for a particular year with the regional government. As for control: we have created the “Transparency and Accountability” program, which includes representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine, NABU divisions, and police divisions. And every week, in line with the law, we conduct complete control: who spends money on what. Where law enforcement units see risks, a warning is immediately given that this should not be done. The money is not spent for any ill-considered purposes,” assured the head of the OVA.
Filashkin also commented on the video that spread on social networks at the end of July 2024. A serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces showed Pokrovsk and the work of communal workers on flower beds, when “the enemy is already 20 km away, and instead of digging trenches in these flower beds, they plant flowers.”
“Several months ago, an issue concerning our roses was raised. Not a penny was spent on flowers. Our utilities were working. Isn’t it nice when they fix those roses? Isn’t it nice when they sweep the yard, isn’t it nice when they take out the garbage, – said Filashkin. – I would advise those bloggers who do not understand the situation, that at least one of them should come here and say to any manager or me: “How can I help you? Let us build one VOP (platoon support point – ed.)”. There is none. And after our victory, everyone will be here. And there will be so many pseudo-critics.”
